Shannon Morris is a seasoned educational leader with over 25 years of experience dedicated to K-12 instruction, mentorship, and school leadership. With a career including teaching and a decade as an elementary school principal, Shannon has a proven track record of fostering inclusive learning environments and driving student success. Her commitment to education is rooted in a deep understanding of culturally responsive teaching and trauma-informed practices, ensuring that all students feel seen and supported.
Throughout her career, Shannon has consistently demonstrated strategic leadership and a data-driven approach. As Principal, she successfully implemented specialized programs for students with autism and serious emotional disturbances and implemented Positive Behavior Intervention Systems. She is known for her ability to mentor and coach her building staff to increase academic achievement, as well as supporting fellow principals.
A lifelong learner, Shannon holds a Master of Education in Literacy, Language, and Culture from Adams State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico. Her expertise extends beyond the classroom, with involvement in professional organizations and leadership initiatives such as the Colorado Department of Education's Principal Leadership Institute and the America Achieves Colorado Educator Fellowship. As a Visiting Instructor at Fort Lewis College, she continues to inspire the next generation of educators, sharing her wealth of knowledge in pedagogical theory and application.
