Nate Klema, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Physics & Engineering ntklema@fortlewis.edu Expertise: Geophysics Differential Geometry Inverse Theory Education: Ph.D., Geophysics, University of Oregon, 2023 B.S., Physics, Fort Lewis College, 2015 About Dr. Nate Klema Nate grew up in Durango and got his bachelor's in physics from Fort Lewis College. He worked for over a decade guiding rafting trips through Grand Canyon National Park before pursuing a Ph.D. in Geophysics at the University of Oregon. He is interested in how mechanical models of the earth's surface processes can be used to learn about the deep structure of volcanic landscapes. Dr. Nate Klema primarily focuses on how river systems evolve in response to changes in magmatic forcing over million-year timescales.
