I was born in Durango and lived there most of my life, but my family is from southern New Mexico. I spent a short time in Phoenix, Arizona, which I loved, but ultimately moved back to be closer to family and friends. I recently moved to Bayfield, which is great because I have a small new community, but I still get to be a part of the Durango community. I have had a different path due to my learning career, and I know all too well the feelings that come with changing majors, taking breaks, and significant life events. While no two paths are the same, I can empathize with the challenges that come from higher education as well as life events. I have worked with many clients from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and cultural heritages. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, empathetic, welcoming, and receptive to feedback. I focus on cultural humility and knowing that I am not the expert on anyone else’s lives. My focus has been on addictions, youth, and young adults, utilizing person-centered, psychodynamic, and CBT approaches. I work with each client, respecting their individuality and the essential aspects of their community. I am here so that everyone can experience the benefits of having people fully believe in and trust them through healthy therapeutic relationships. I am excited to be a part of your journey through life and higher education!
