Frequently asked questions

What makes 1304 Apartments different from on-campus housing?

1304 Apartments are affiliated with Fort Lewis College but are not managed by ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Student Housing. An external company operates the property and offers a more independent living experience for students, faculty, and staff. You'll sign your own lease and handle rent and maintenance directly with the management team.

Financial aid & billing

Can I use financial aid to pay rent?

Yes—but not directly. Financial aid is disbursed to your student account, and you’ll pay rent to the 1304 Apartments independently. Contact the Financial Aid Office to understand how off-campus housing may affect your aid.

Is rent charged to my student account?

No. Rent is not billed through ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ. You’ll pay 1304 Apartments directly per your lease agreement.

Leasing information

What lease terms are available?

1304 Apartments offer 9- and 12-month leases. Leases are binding unless exceptions are outlined in the agreement or by law. Be sure you’re ready to commit before signing.

Do I need to complete the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ housing application?

No. No on-campus housing application is required since 1304 isn’t part of ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Student Housing.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A security deposit is required to secure your apartment. Contact the property manager for the current amount and terms.

Other details

Is parking available?

Yes, but limited. On-site parking is first-come, first-served. Street or nearby parking may be needed.

Are the apartments furnished?

No. You’ll need to bring your own furniture and essentials.

Are utilities included?

Yes. Utilities are included in the rent.

Are there ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ staff like RAs or a resident director?

No. Even though the college owns the property, ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ resident assistants and directors are not on staff there.

What happens if I graduate or leave ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ?

1304 Apartments are reserved for current students, faculty, and staff. You're still responsible for fulfilling the lease terms if you leave Fort Lewis College during your lease. You may not be eligible to renew without continued ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ affiliation.
