Provost Fellows at Fort Lewis College
The Provost Fellows program invests in leadership development and draws on faculty expertise to assist Academic Affairs with major priorities and strengthen connections with our various campus partners.
The program required no new resources and benefited from grant and cross-functional support.
Meg Alvarado-Saggese, Ph.D., will continue bridging Academic Affairs and Diversity Affairs through initiatives that include enhancing DEI assessment and reporting, leading the formation of a Latinx Student Serving working group, and providing strategic input and guidance on major Academic Affairs and Diversity Affairs priorities to ensure cultural responsiveness and inclusivity are integrated into all our efforts.
Tom Miaskiewicz, Ph.D., will play a pivotal role in establishing AI infrastructure at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ, particularly in the areas of resource development and AI application for faculty, staff, students, and our regional partners. He will also direct our newly established AI Institute, an incubator for AI exploration and application in collaboration with the Center for Innovation. The AI Institute will serve as an AI Hub for our region, promoting AI exploration and innovation.
As Junior Faculty Mentorship Fellows, Cory Pillen, Ph.D. and Mike Wagner support the success of new and junior faculty by fostering inclusive mentorship, building community, and enhancing professional development. Pillen brings expertise in visual culture and faculty leadership, while Wagner contributes a strong background in place-based education and higher education leadership. Together, they collaborate with Academic Affairs to strengthen mentorship programming and promote teaching excellence, equity, and belonging across campus.
