Below, you'll find important dates and deadlines to to guide you through the Fort Lewis College campus housing and dining application and move-in process.

Students on move-in day

August 22 Incoming First Year and Transfer Move In  Student Union Ballroom, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 
August 23-24  Continuing Student Move In  Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday 12-5 p.m. 
December 12 Winter Break Move Out  Ìý

Spring 2026

Date Event Additional information
January 9 First-year and transfer students move-in Check-in: Thursday, January 9, check your email in December for instructions to sign up. Check-in will be at Skyhawk Station.
January 11 or 12 Continuing and returning students move-in Check-in: Saturday, January 11 and  Sunday, January 12, time of day TBD, at your residence hall.
March 17-21 Spring break Residence halls remain open/td>
May 2 Move-out Within 24 hours of last final or May 2 by noon at the latest.
May 3 Graduate move-out Spring graduates have until 1pm to check out of their residence hall.

Housing & Dining application timelines

Incoming first-year & transfer students 

  • February 10: Housing application opens at 9:00 am. 
  • May 19: Students who apply between February 10 and May 19 will receive their housing assignment via their ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ email address, which will also be viewable on the housing portal. 
  • June 10: The Second round of housing assignments will be sent out.
  • July 10: Third round of housing assignments. 
  • July 10 - Semester Start: Applications received after July 10 will receive their housing assignment within 10 business days, depending on availability. 
  • July 15: Housing guarantee date. Confirm your admission to guarantee a spot on campus! 

Continuing students 

  • February 12: Housing application opens at 9:00 am. 
  • March 10: Students who apply for housing between February 12 and March 10 will receive their room selection time slot for the week of March 24. 
  • Week of March 24: Students with a time slot can access room selection in the housing portal. Time slots remain open until April 14. 
  • March 31: Fall class registration opens! 
  • May 5: Deadline to register for classes to keep your housing assignment 
  • May-Semester Start: Applications received after the March room selection will be placed by Student Housing based on application date and room preferences listed in the housing application. Placements will be sent out as spaces become available. 
  • July 15: Cancellation deadline with $100 fee (must cancel before this date).

Summer 2025 Housing

The Summer 2025 housing application is closed. Summer housing is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
