Build real marketing skills you can use now

Professor Cristian Sepulveda lectures to students

Whether you’re earning a degree or sharpening professional skills, the Foundations of Marketing Certificate gives you a hands-on introduction to how brands communicate, why customers buy, and how to turn insights into action.

Open to current students and community members, participants simply enroll through Fort Lewis College admissions as part-time students to complete the required courses—often in just a semester or two.

You’ll build skills in market analysis, brand strategy, consumer insights, campaign development, digital and social media literacy, and presentation—all in a flexible certificate that complements your primary field of study or professional goals.

From day one, you’ll apply what you learn in real-world settings. Past projects include consulting with the La Plata County Humane Society thrift store, where students conducted shopper research, redesigned store layouts, and proposed strategies to improve the customer experience.

These partnerships give you portfolio-ready work and the confidence to step into marketing-related roles.
