Adams State. They were ranked first last year in our RMAC conference, and our head coach’s daughter was their starting senior setter. This team gave us so much trouble last year, and had already beaten some of the best teams in our conference.

Student brings ragtime piano greats together in Durango

Going beyond the classroom

I have had a lot of amazing opportunities at Fort Lewis College to explore my field of study beyond the classroom. I am an English Communication Major and throughout my time on the campus news magazine The Independent, I have moved through various positions. I started as a Print Reporter and I transitioned to become Online Manager and now for a year and a half I have been Editor in Chief.

When winter arrives at Fort Lewis College, there's only thing to do: Get outside! Fortunately, here in beautiful and rugged southwestern Colorado there are plenty of places and ways to get out-of-doors, with adventures suited to any and every skill level. Involvement: The key to success

Engulfed in the flames of a busy school and work schedule, I asked myself: “What am I getting out of all this?” Doing the bare minimum is an easy habit to form when you are trying to balance your work and school schedule. But after really questioning my decision to be in school, I came to the conclusion that the bare minimum isn’t enough.

Finding my community at Skyhawk Saturday

When I was a senior in high school, I only had one priority in mind: get out of the small town in New Mexico that I was from. I had lived in a small town my entire life, a place where everyone in town knows your family, where you can’t go to the store or a movie without seeing at least one person you know, and where nearly everyone knows your business.
