Long-time Foundation Board member Steve Parker was honored with Durango's Citizen of the Year award.

David Oberholtzer is the new head men's soccer coach – he played on the 2006 and 2007 Skyhawk soccer teams, and assistant coached from 2009-2012, taking the team to two NCAA National Championships (2009 and 2011).

Bob Pietrack (Exercise Science, ’04), in his first year as head coach of the Skyhawks men’s basketball team, was named the NABC South Central Region Coach of the Year, RMAC Coach of the Year, and the Hoopdirt.com Coach of the Week in late February. He was also a finalist for the Auerbach College Coach of the Year.

Joshua Blaylock (Junior, Exercise Science) was named to the to the NABC All-South Central First Team, First Team All-RMAC Honors, 2016 RMAC Men's Basketball Tournament MVP, and 4-time Student Athlete of the Week.
