Amidst a nationwide shortage of K-12 educators, ܽƵ partnered with the Durango School District 9-R to support the next generation of future teachers through a new program. Described as a "grow-your-own" model, the program creates pathways for high school students to return to their home communities and teach after completing their college degrees.

The ܽƵ women's basketball team earned its first home win, 80-70, over Northern New Mexico College during the annual Nike N7 night, a celebration of Indigenous athletic talent during Native American Heritage Month. The Skyhawks welcomed local tribal leaders for a pregame blessing and warrior song to get the evening underway.

Jake Kurzweil, adjunct instructor of Environment & Sustainability, advocates for the protection of a wetland near Silverton from proposed construction projects. Kurzweil told The Durango Herald that the negative impacts on this particular habitat might branch off to others in the surrounding ecosystem.

Kelsey Smith (Business Administration, '15) was named flagship operations manager for Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Inc., the first-place company on Newsweek's list of "America's Best Retailers 2022" in the chocolate and candy stores category.
