John L. Smith has resigned as head football coach from Fort Lewis College, announced today by Director of Athletics Gary Hunter.  Defensive coordinator Ed Rifilato has been promoted to head coach. Smith has accepted the head coaching position at Kentucky State University (NCAA Division II) in Frankfort, Kentucky.

On the morning of August 7, Durangoans awoke to a tragic sight: Overnight the Animas River had transformed from mid-summer clear-green into a brilliant golden ribbon threaded through downtown.

Durango is a long way to have come from Africa. But for Farai Taziwa, it's not nearly as far as his whole world has come. Taziwa, a Zimbabwe native, has accumulated many achievements during his time at Fort Lewis College, from earning his bachelor's degree in Engineering in just three and a half years, to landing his first job during his last semester. 

Playwright Eric Coble has hit the big time. His play “Velocity of Autumn” premiered on Broadway in 2014, and lead actress Estelle Parsons earned a Tony Award nomination for her role. After so much promising success, Coble’s star has kept right on rising—and this fall, he soared right back to his alma mater, Fort Lewis College.

This past spring, the 泡芙短视频 Teacher Education Department graduated its first cohort of students earning master’s degrees.
