Fall Blaze ride benefits ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Cycling team

Fort Lewis College Cycling invites all cycling fans to the Durango Fall Blaze Bicycle Tour on Saturday, September 26. The fully-supported group ride around beautiful Southwestern Colorado at the peak of autumn foliage season raises funds for the Cycling Scholarship, supporting cyclists on the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Cycling team.

ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ alumnus David Kasper (Business Administration - Engineering Management, '14) takes us on a tour of the new Geosciences, Physics & Engineering Hall, currently under construction on the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ West Campus. Kasper is the Assistant Superintendent for Jaynes Construction, the contracted builder for the Hall.

The Old Fort Farm Stand

The Old Fort in Hesperus, 20 miles west of Durango and the original site of Fort Lewis College, provides a place for students to get their hands dirty learning about sustainable food production. The Old Fort Farm Stand appears weekly on the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ campus, giving the community the chance to reap the benefits of their labors, with a great selection of fresh organic produce and grass-fed meats.

Teacher Ed award

Richard Fulton, Lorien Chambers Schuldt, and Jennifer Rider, all in the Teacher Education Department, were honored with the for their work with the Bilingual, Culturally Linguistic Diverse Education endorsement in Navajo.

Summer Skyhawks

Junior English major Kristen Parker, sophomore Psychology major Alec McKeand, and sophomore Biology major Peyton Weigel were named the winners of ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ's annual #summerskyhawks Instagram contest.

Athletic Academic Achievement Award

Forty-two Skyhawks student-athletes earned the 2014-15 Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award recognition.

ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ alumnus receives grant for Hopi outdoor program

Adventures for Hopi, a program founded by Fort Lewis College alumnus Marshall Masayesva (Adventure Education, 2014), has been awarded a $10,000 grant through the KEEN Effect grant program, which supports nonprofits around the world that inspire responsible outdoor participation.
