Congratulations to the other class of 2015

On May 5, we held one of the most enjoyable events of the year at Fort Lewis College: the ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Retiree Luncheon. This is the time when our retired faculty and staff come back to campus to welcome the new class of retirees. 

Education

Congratulations to Education major Ashley Aragon, this year's recipient of the Ida Welsh Cook Martin Scholarship. The award is for $15,000 per year for up to three years.

Biology

Congratulations go out to sophomore Cellular & Molecular Biology major Kaila Cruz, who was awarded the Ralph Milo Martin Memorial Scholarship, providing her $15,000 for up to three years.

Writing Program

The top two winners of the Campus Writing Competition were freshman Montana Tucker, with her essay, “The Chocolate Trade, Chaco Canyon, 800AD-1200AD” and senior Kathryn Ross, with her essay, “Mental Imagery of Runners."

Associate Director of Athletics Lynne Andrew was selected to enter the 2015 Brantford (Canada) and Area Hall of Honor Roll Builders Category for basketball.

Humans of Fort Lewis College: Manuel Gant

Background: What's your title, and what do you do on your job? And how many years have you been at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ? I am a Financial Aid Counselor, where I have the opportunity to help and advice students and families on how to pay for college. Applying for federal funds opens up a lot of opportunities for students to access funds to be able to attend college, and my job is to try to make it happen...

ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Foundation Board Election Results

The Fort Lewis College Foundation recently elected officers and directors at its annual meeting. Gene Bradley was reelected as chair of the Foundation Board of Directors. John Francis was selected to serve as vice chair and Keith Newbold will serve as secretary. Mel Owen was welcomed as treasurer.

ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ ranked as a top 5 Best Value College in Colorado

In a study published by SmartAsset, an analytics organization out of New York, Fort Lewis College was ranked in the top five Best Value Colleges in Colorado. The study looked at factors such as scholarships and grants awarded, tuition and student living costs, retention, and average starting salary for graduates.
