Cancelling Housing Application before moving in

• Contract cancellation: Complete the cancellation request form or send an email from your 泡芙短视频 email account to studenthousing@fortlewis.edu.
• Cancellation fee: A $100 fee for continuing students applies for cancellations after the following dates:
  • Fall term: July 15
  • Spring term: December 1
  • Summer term: April 27

Cancellations and Early Termination after moving in

Fall and Spring Terms:

• Withdrawal: If you withdraw from Fort Lewis College during the contract term, refunds for room and board are pro-rated.
• Switching to off-campus housing: If you decide to move off-campus while still enrolled at 泡芙短视频, you'll face an $850 contract termination fee.

All first-year students must live on campus for two semesters (fall and spring), unless they meet these requirements:

• Live with parents/guardians within 60 miles of campus
• Are 20 years of age or older
• Lived in a residential school for at least one year
• Have prior military service
• Are married or a parent

First-year students who do not request an exemption when applying for on-campus housing and are assigned a room for the fall term must live on campus for the entire academic year. Current students who are requesting to remain in student housing while reducing their courseload below 9 credit hours may submit an exemption request to the 9-credit hour requirement

To be exempt, you need to submit a written request and get approval from the Housing Director.

Moving in with a new roommate can be a fun and exciting experience! It is important to create healthy expectations of one another in order to live in a comfortable environment. The roommate/suite agreement is meant to help guide that process and document your expectations for potential future use.
 
Together with your roommate and or suitemates, take time to fill out this agreement. Discuss each question together carefully and make sure your responses are clear and concise. 

Yes! The Student Housing Office begins accepting room change requests after the Census date in the fall and spring semesters. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on room availability.

If you are experiencing a conflict with your roommate, your Residence Director will discuss mediation options before approving a room change.

A $40 room change fee will be added to your student account once the room change is approved.

Room and meal plan adjustments

• If you move to a room with a different housing rate, your student account will be prorated accordingly based on the cost difference of your new room assignment.
• If you move from an apartment to a residence hall, you will automatically be assigned the 19-meal plan.
• If you move from a residence hall to an apartment, you may request to cancel your meal plan.

Checkout requirement

• If your request is approved, you'll have 48 hours after the given date to move into your new room.
• You must check out of your old assignment with your Resident Assistant. Failure to properly check out will result in charges for a lock change and a failure-to-check-out fee.

• Assess experiences, satisfaction levels, and learning outcomes of residents, guests, and student staff.
• Use a variety of methods for assessments, such as annual surveys, analysis of reports and trends, event evaluations, process debriefs, and focus groups.
• Assess specific learning outcomes related to various aspects of residence life.

Learning Outcomes:

• Residents involved in disciplinary action for drug and alcohol incidents will learn to make balanced life choices and decrease their incidence of similar conduct.
• Residents who participate in Living Learning Communities or Faculty in Residence programs will establish positive relations with program faculty and staff.
• First-year campus residents will establish a positive sense of social competence during their first academic year.
• Resident Assistants will be proficient at using tools to identify resident needs and utilize information to improve the residence life community.
• Resident Assistants will identify an awareness of diversity and articulate how to contribute to an inclusive social climate.
