Find out if your credits as a Study Abroad student transfer to Fort Lewis College.

Add money to your SkyCard

SkyCash: A debit account to use anywhere on campus that accepts SkyCard payment.

  • Can be Add funds (and so can friends and family with your legal first name and student ID number), check balances, and view transaction history.
  • Download the FreshX mobile app (/). Log in with your ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ credentials. Check your balance, freeze your card if lost or stolen, and add funds (save your credit card information in your SkyCard account first).
  • Deposit funds in person: Use the kiosk in the Skyhawk Station lobby or by the Information Desk in the SUB.
  • Remaining balances at the end of the semester can be refunded through the Accounting Office.

Replace SkyCard

Damages

Take care of your SkyCard— do not punch a hole in it. Damaging the card can require purchasing a replacement. 

Card malfunctions

For issues with your card's functionality, like meal plan or door access, contact the SkyCard Office at skycard@fortlewis.edu or 970-247-7504 (office).

Lost or stolen

If you lose your SkyCard, to freeze your account. Do this fast; you'll be responsible for all purchases before notifying SkyCard Services. Only the remaining balance can be protected.

Replacement SkyCard

You can get one free SkyCard replacement by visiting SkyHawk Station in person. After this, you can . When you get your new card, unfreeze your account to begin using it. Your old card becomes disabled when your new card is created.

SkyCard policies
  • The SkyCard is your college ID and should always be carried. It is the property of Fort Lewis College and must be surrendered when requested by Fort Lewis College officials. Cardholders will receive a reimbursement for any remaining SkyCash balance if the card is permanently surrendered. 
  • The cardholder is responsible for safeguarding their SkyCard. Should the card become lost or misplaced accidentally, by theft, or for any other reason, [login to the SkyCard External Quicklink, select the Card Services tab, and freeze the account.] The cardholder assumes responsibility for purchases against their account before notifying SkyCard Services. Only the balance can be protected when the card is reported missing and invalidated. 
  • The card's use is governed by the policies and procedures of the College and is NOT TRANSFERABLE. The College is not responsible for any loss or expense resulting from this card's loss, theft, or misuse. A replacement fee of $15.00 will be charged if this card is damaged, lost, or stolen. 
  • The participant's SkyCard will be the access device for various stored value debit accounts. The card must be presented at the time of purchase and will be the only means of accessing the participant's account. 
  • The Accounting Office will transfer SkyCash balances from accounts that have been inactive for a period of six months into the customer's ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ tuition account. Refunds on closed accounts will be made at the total value of the unused balance by the Cashier's Office. All debts owed to Fort Lewis College must be satisfied before a check is processed for a refund. Any negative SkyCard balances will be charged to the account holder's Student Tuition Account or billed directly to the account holder. 
  • Go to the Accounting Office for refunds of unused balances. SkyCash deposits made with a credit card may be credited back to the credit card. All other overpayments will be refunded to the student. A 30-day hold may be placed on more significant amounts made with a personal check. The funds will appear as a credit in your account. Fort Lewis College does not pay interest on any credit balances in your account or any funds included in an overpayment before their refund. 
  • Using the SkyCard stored value accounts, you agree you will not make your card available to anyone else, including orally, in writing, or by telephone. Additional ID may be required to ensure that only the participant uses the account. The participant may be required to sign a receipt for goods. 
  • Fort Lewis College reserves the right to determine hours of operation and pricing for the goods and services available for purchase with these accounts.

Enrollment Verification

Enrollment verification is a service for current and former students for various purposes, including scholarships, employment, loans, and insurance. In most cases, the student must sign a Release of Information before we can process Enrollment Verification requests.

Diploma Replacement

You can replace your diploma for just $30. If you have changed your name, or if you would like you name to appear differently on your replacement diploma, be sure to indicate as much in the "Name on Diploma" field on the order form.

Independent Study (299)/Individual Study (499)

The Independent Study forms are now available in the Student Resource Center. 

  • Initiating the form: Students must initiate the form through the Student Resource Center. 
  • Filling out the form: Students must complete their personal information upon initiating the form. However, they can complete the rest of the form themselves or have their instructor do it. 
  • Form routing and approval: After the student completes and signs the form, it will be routed to the instructor. Once the Associate Dean approves it, the Registrar will proceed to create the section and register the student as usual.

Course delivery definitions
  • Synchronous: Happens at the same time.
  • Asynchronous: Doesn't happen at the same time.
  • Online: Courses are offered through the Internet using Canvas. 100% of course activity is done online with no required on-campus meetings. Online courses may include optional synchronous online discussions or assignments.
  • Live Online: Faculty and Students meet synchronously via Zoom for all instructional hours; no in-person classroom meetings. Students must be able to meet online during all scheduled classroom times. Live Online courses hold most classes via Zoom but can also include some alternative synchronous and asynchronous online course activity.
  • Hybrid: Combines face-to-face classroom instruction with distance education activities (25-85% required synchronous).
  • Hyflex: Course delivered with fully remote option(s) – synchronous or asynchronous – along with regularly scheduled face-to-face classes, allowing students to transition seamlessly between the two learning environments.
  • Lecture, Lab, or Studio Art: Regular in-person classroom.

Grade replacement

A student who wishes to replace a grade must adhere to the following policies and procedures:

  1. Students must follow all policies regarding the repetition of coursework.
  2. Some courses may be taken more than once for full credit (e.g., some special topics courses, independent studies, and internships); these courses are not eligible for grade replacement.
  3. The semester hours and quality points in repeated courses are counted only once. The highest grade and its corresponding quality points are used to compute the quality point average and meet graduation requirements.
  4. Students can replace a maximum of 3 classes up to 12 credit hours ("cumulative replacement hours") with improved grades earned by repeating courses.
  5. The credit hours of each repeated course will count toward the cumulative replacement hours.
  6. All grade entries remain a part of the student's permanent record.

Census dates

Census (sometimes called Census Date) is the official count of student enrollment at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓÆµ; we count at the end of the 12th day of classes for fall, spring, and summer terms, which always falls on Tuesday of the third week of courses. The summer term has only one Census date, even though courses have various start dates.
